ABOUT THE CHARLTON FARM
Dr. Kent Charlton, Lori and their sons are second and third generation Charolais commercial and purebred beef producers. Kent’s parents started raising Charolais in 1969. It is mostly a cow-calf operation, with a small but nice selection of bulls for sale, as well as a freezer beef component. For the Charolais connoisseur, our pedigrees include Bacchus, Detonator, Rollin’ Acres Manohman, Bluegrass, Creech, Rollin’ Acres Oh Yeah, Hicks Revolver, Hicks Kasino, and Wildor Raven. We are eagerly awaiting the 2020 calf crop from our new herdsire, Charlton Admiral, a 3/4 French Polled Charolais bull which we raised from a nice cow bought as a calf from Whiskey Hollow and sired by Manohman.
Sons, Nathaniel and Nolan, have a grade Boer goat operation, from which they sell breeding bucks.
Maple syrup is the most recent operation added to the Charlton’s busy schedule. All buyers of our syrup seem to love it and keep coming back for more. The sap is gathered in buckets from our farms and processed in our on-farm evaporator.
